‘The Furneaux Islands Festival is an opportunity to come together and celebrate where we live, the strength that is our shared culture and community, and in so doing, sharing Australian’s multicultural heritage.’
The FIF 2017 will showcase the talents of Aboriginal singer-songwriters, including Dale Huddleston, Johnny Huckle, Andy Baylor’s Cajun Combo, Abbie Cardwell, Margie Goss, Marc Cobham, Lee Sonnyboy Morgan, Ronnie Summers & Lee Morgan. Aboriginal comedian, Sean Choolburra and performing artist, Cheryl Wheatley, will hold children’s workshops.
Friday, January 20th – Acoustic supper at Emita (6.00pm)
Saturday, January 21st – Festival Market Fair in the main street of Whitemark (10am-2pm)
Saturday, January 21st– Veranda Music at the Furneaux Tavern in Lady Barron (4pm)
Sunday, January 22nd – Community Concert and BBQ at the Flinders Island Aboriginal Association Park (10am)
